I don’t know who R. Caygill is, but he or she is evidently filled with reverence for the wild and the rendering skills to express it. Coarse-grained quartersawn oak, beautifully figured with ray flake, shaped to suit the line and form so expertly executed here—that’s all this piece called for, that and nothing more.
